Our Mission

Our mission is simple: To save dogs, cats and the occasional rabbit from high-kill shelters and dangerous situations and placing them in forever homes. Basically, we are turning strangers into friends and friends into family.

Who we are

We are a diverse team of women united by our compassion for animals and our commitment to their welfare. Each member of our group brings unique skills and experiences to our mission, creating a powerful network of support and care.

Our Story

Linus & Friends was created in 2021, when our Founder, Kristie, was sitting at home like most of us over the pandemic. She looked at her rescue cat and realized rescue didn’t have to stop there. Just because she couldn’t adopt more didn’t mean she couldn’t save more! So, Linus & Friends was born, named in honor of Linus, Kristie’s first rescue kitty.

We took in our first owner-surrender pup in October 2021, and by January 2022, we were on a roll taking in dogs and cats from kill shelters in the rural south and bringing them to safety in NYC.

Now, Linus & Friends is run by a passionate group of women who have chosen to dedicate their lives to helping animals. Our journey is fueled by a deep love for animals and a relentless drive to save as many lives as possible. We are based in both NYC and Central Florida, but help animals all over the East Coast and Texas!
